Nestled on 33 sunny acres in beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Exotic Fruit Nursery is a small, family-run business with a passion for the extraordinary. Specializing in unusual fruit trees and other edible perennial plants, we proudly grow varieties that not only grow in our local climate but also bring a taste of the exotic to your backyard – including bananas!

From Pawpaws to Persimmons, Passionfruit to Mulberries, and even hardy Citrus and Figs, we offer a world of flavor. One of our favorites is the Pineapple Guava, a delightful small tree with fragrant, edible flowers and refreshing fruit that grows in our greenhouse right here in Nova Scotia.

But that’s not all! We also offer tours, tastings, and workshops, where you can learn, taste, and experience these amazing fruits firsthand. Whether you're a seasoned gardener looking for something new, or simply curious about tasting persimmons grown in Nova Scotia, we invite you to visit and explore the unexpected at Exotic Fruit Nursery!

Grow your own fruit! We have an abundance of ready-to-plant potted varieties for you to choose from.
Specializing in the growing of fruiting and medicinal plants that we sell to the public at our nursery. 

Tour, Taste & LEARN

We offer botanical guided tours and different workshops + tasting events at our nursery, greenhouse and orchard. You can book a tour or tasting by contacting us.

Find some treasures in our wee little Gift Shop! From Tiffany lamps and colorful crystal jewelry + glass fruit to organic plant care products, teas and dried fruit. We also have Gift Cards available.

Tiffany stained glass decorations, lamps and windows mingle and blend with exotic plants throughout the greenhouse and attached Tiny Home. My parents-in-law Brigid and Kevin Clarke owned a Tiffany Glass Company in Vancouver, B.C. After their passing the business got dispersed but we were lucky to hold on to some of their amazing glass treasures. These gems found a new home at our nursery and give the indoor jungle a magical touch. You can experience and learn more about their sparkling beauty during one of the nursery tours or illuminated evening walks.      


​CONSULTING

​With a masters degree in Geography, Biology, Soil Science and Forestry and over 35 years of hands-on experience, I am happy to offer advice and help with topics such as natural fruit tree care, edible garden design, soil enhancement, greenhouse + pond building, water storage/use and off-grid living.

Come for an appointment and discuss your questions in our cozy sunroom equipped with an extensive reference library and/or book a site visit. Expert advise on growing and fruit production.

In our ever expanding Showcase Indoor Fruit Jungle and Outdoor Orchard, we grow the plants we sell and test them for hardiness, fruit production and taste. All our plants are naturally grown and we also mix our own pesticide-free potting soil.
The Exotic Fruit Nursery isn’t just a business— it is our passion. It is a refuge, sanctuary, educational hub, home and personal paradise to which we would like to welcome visitors from near and far. It is a unique experience that connects people to the natural world and healthy food. We strive to instill a sense of awe.

​Costs:

Free admission to the indoor jungle and outdoor orchard with a purchase (Nursery or Gift Shop)!
1 hour guided tour: $15.00/person, minimum of 2 people per tour 
Tasting Events and workshops: $25.00/person ​
